This course is designed for Carers Leads in Secondary School settings to provide a more in-depth awareness of the issues Young Carers face in education, and to help schools develop systems to improve young carer achievement and progression.
Young Carers provide support to a family member who has a disability, chronic illness, mental health or drug/alcohol issues. This may be a parent, grandparent, or sibling. Many Young Carers care for more than one person and may also have their own health issues.
