What Courses Do We Offer?

City and Guilds Award in Independent Advocacy level 2 - This course is for individuals just starting out in their role as an advocate or for anyone wanting to become and advocate. It is also for professionals who want to have a better understanding of the role of an Independent Advocate. 

The course will take around 20 hours to complete all of the set assignments which are assessed by our experienced assessors. A City and Guilds Certificate of award is issued upon successful completion. 

Residential Adult Safeguarding Competency Training - Based on the National Safeguarding Competency Framework, and written by Safeguarding professionals, this 2 hour course is for front line staff and volunteers working in residential and nursing homes with adults who may be at risk of harm. A certificate of achievement is issued on completion.

Adult Safeguarding Competency Training - Based on the National Safeguarding Competency Framework, and written by Safeguarding professionals, this 2 hour course for front line staff and volunteers offering information, advice and support to adults who may be at risk of harm. A certificate of achievement is issued on completion

Introduction to Mentoring - Based on years of supporting and developing and delivering mentoring programmes, and written by experienced mentoring service managers, this 1 hour course is for anyone just starting in a role as a mentor or thinking about becoming a mentor. A certificate of achievement is issued on successful completion.

Prison Peer Support Scheme Programme - Based upon our experiences of setting up and delivering Social Care Volunteer Peer Support Programmes in Prisons across the Midlands and North West of England, and written by Peer Support Programme Professionals, this course is designed for professionals working in the Ministry of Justice Prison System. The course aims to offer support and advice to enable prison Governors and staff to set up a successful Volunteer Peer Support Programme in their Prison. 

We can also offer additional training and consultation services.

Supporting Carers - Quality Standards in Carers Support Accreditation - Developed in partnership with carers, their families, employers, staff, further education establishments and students this accreditation is a kite mark for organisations wanting to review and implement  strategies and plans to support their workforce, volunteers and students who have caring responsibilities. 

The self assessment and work plans take around 6 months to complete and offer a range of practical support advice and help for organisations. On successful completion organisations will be awarded the 'Quality Standard in Care Support' for three years.
