What do you think being a mentor is

When you hear the word Mentor what do you think about?

What do you think the role of a Mentor is?

Take a few moments to think about it.

Mentoring

The definition of a mentor as described by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation 2008

“The classic model of mentoring is that of a one-to-one relationship between an experienced person and an unrelated person which is characterised by trust, reciprocity, challenge, support and control”

A mentoring relationship involves a mentor (the one who provides mentoring) and a mentee (the one who is mentored by the mentor). In some cases, one mentor can exist for one or more mentees depending on the reason for the mentoring relationship. It can often involve learning and experimentation to develop skills and to support the individual to fulfill their potential.
